Household income eligibility for solar panel (PV) and hot water rebates changed on 1 July 2026 from $210,000 to $150,000 per year. Applications submitted after 30 June 2026 will be assessed under the $150,000 eligibility cap.

You may be eligible for help with the upfront costs of installing solar panels or an energy-efficient hot water system at your home. Get started in 3 simple steps.

Learn more about applying for the $1,400 solar panel rebate and interest-free loan, the $1,400 hot water rebate for locally made hot water products, or the $1,000 rebate for other hot water products.

1. Check your eligibility

You could be eligible if your household taxable income is less than $150,000 per year, your property is valued at less than $3 million, and the property hasn’t received the same rebate before.

2. Find a retailer

To claim a rebate you need to use one of our authorised retailers. This ensures you get a quality product, installed safely by a trained professional.

3. Apply

Once you’ve got quotes and chosen a retailer, lodge your rebate application online. You’ll need to provide a few documents to help us confirm your eligibility.
