The Victorian Government has expanded the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, introducing upfront incentives for commercial and industrial premises to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems between 30 and 200 kilowatts in size.
The new commercial and industrial solar panel (PV) discount will help businesses save on energy costs and electrify on-site equipment.
Eligibility for the discount
All Victorian businesses and non-residential sites, such as community buildings, schools and hospitals, are eligible to apply for discounts to install a solar PV system.
To be eligible, requirements for the solar PV system, the products used, product warranties and system size must also be met. These are detailed on the Victorian Energy Upgrades website.
Systems must be installed through VEU accredited providers, who are accredited to create Victorian energy efficiency certificates (VEECs) for the new commercial and industrial solar activity.
Existing accredited providers are undergoing accreditation and will be listed shortly.
Businesses may also be eligible to claim incentives under relevant Federal Government schemes for their solar installation.
Businesses wishing to install a solar system larger than 200kW can do so under the project-based activity for VEU.
