Solar power shines bright in 2022: A year in review

Let’s hear it for you, Victoria: this year you’ve found even more ways to take control of your energy bills, tackle climate change and help build a cleaner, renewable future.

You’ve helped Solar Victoria pass 220,000 homes with solar panels, batteries or hot water installed.

Solar panels save the average household over a thousand dollars per year, which means an average monthly bill of $140 could drop to less than $50!

This year alone, battery installations under the Solar Homes Program have almost doubled.

And after our best year yet for solar hot water, over 3000 homes have now been approved for the rebate.

Public and community housing residents have seen big benefits from our Home Heating and Cooling Upgrades program this year, with more than 18,000 rebates combined.

Safety and quality remain top priorities.

Last financial year our audit compliance rates for solar PV installations grew to 88%.

Tarneit, Craigieburn, Point Cook, Clyde North, and Truganina – you deserve an extra pat.

on the back, you’re the top 5 suburbs in the state for solar installations!

And in the regions, special mention goes to Mildura, Shepparton, Wodonga, Wangaratta and Wallan for the super solar job you’re doing!

And that’s only part of the Solar Victoria story.

Solar for Rentals; Solar for Business; Zero Emissions Vehicles; and Virtual Power Plants are also helping build a cleaner, renewable future for Victoria.

And we couldn’t do it without you!

So thank you for a fantastic year.

And stay in touch to see what solar can do for you.

what solar can do for your community what solar can do for Victoria.
