Gippsland Solar is one of many companies that’s had a spike in growth since the solar homes program was announced in August.

“Growth has been strong in the past year. We’ve put on six new staff, including a former Hazelwood worker, an apprentice who came to us having done work experience, and a young labourer.”

“We’re supporting our region and for the younger team members, we’re helping to build them, potentially, a 30-year career in renewables.”

Established in 2010, Gippsland Solar is involved in many large-scale commercial installations like Camberwell Grammar Schools 862kw system completed early last year, but Andy said residential installations made up around half its workload.

It’s allowing Gippsland Solar to spread into the Melbourne market with a distribution centre in Hallam, and a newly acquired sales office opening soon in Richmond.

“We’re focused on the middle to higher end of the market. We install the highest quality systems, and monitor it for our clients for the next 10 years to ensure the system is online and performing to expectations.

“Our clients really appreciate that level of service. It gives them comfort and confidence that they will get the best long-term returns on their investment.”

“Some opt for the lowest possible price, but paying a little more makes a difference between a 10-year and a 25-year panel warranty, and a system that is monitored for the next 10 years.

“With the Solar Victoria rebate, you can essentially upgrade to a premium option for no extra cost and get real value from the rebate program.”
