Applying for a Hot Water Rebate – for New Customers

The purpose of this video is to walk you through the process of applying for a Solar Victoria Hot Water rebate for customers who have not previously received a Solar Victoria solar panel rebate.

After you’ve engaged an authorised Hot Water retailer and received a quote for your installation, your retailer will upload your quote to the Solar Victoria Portal. You will then be sent an email with a link to the portal to retrieve the quote.

On the Solar Victoria Portal home page you can read about the eligibility criteria, which documents you need to get started, and answers to frequently asked questions.

Before starting, make sure you have all of the required information at hand.

To begin, click Apply Now

Begin your application by entering your email address and mobile phone number.

When you click next, a security code will be sent to the mobile phone number you entered.

Enter the code here, and click next.

Now we will need to confirm your identity.

If you already have a Service Victoria account, you can log in and use your stored details.

Otherwise, click “Verify your identity”.

Once you have entered all your details and your identity has been confirmed, search for the name of your chosen retailer and click on their name in the list.

Enter the quote number provided by your retailer,and the total quoted amount before any rebates or discounts are applied.

Click the tick box if this is an emergency installation.

Click ‘Next’.

Confirm that we’ve matched your details against the correct quote.

Contact your retailer if these details are incorrect.

Click ‘Next’.Once you have progressed to this page, you have reserved a place in the portal, and you will have 14 days to complete your application.

If you do not submit your application in this time frame you will lose your allocated place and may need to wait until the next release opens to continue the application process.

On this page, you need to enter the details of all property owners as well as their income details to confirm eligibility.

To declare the total household income for the property, each owner of the property owner needs to provide their:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Income details

When you select the statement that best describes your income, you will be prompted to upload an appropriate supporting document.

You will also be asked to provide further supporting information, such as your annual taxable income, or customer reference number for Health Care, Pensioner Concession or Commonwealth Seniors Health cards.

Click add Homeowner if there are other owners whose details need to be added.

Once all owners’ details have been added, tick the box to declare that your property is valued below $3 million and tick the box to say you have provided the names of all owners.

Once all the details have been entered, click next, then review and confirm that they are correct.

Click ‘Next’.

You’re now ready to submit your application.

Once you’ve submitted your application you’ll receive an email from the portal confirming we have received it.

If we have all the information we need, your eligibility will be confirmed immediately.
