Thousands of solar install jobs ready to go
We are currently processing thousands of eligibility confirmation requests that will help keep Victoria’s solar industry going for months.
The popularity of the Solar Homes Program has meant that we have exceeded the announced limit of 24,0000 installations for its first year. With applications now closed, we are confident that there’s a strong pipeline of work, with more than 10,000 potential installations still to occur in the coming months.
If you have customers that you know have a Solar Victoria eligibility number then get in touch with them, as they are still able to claim their rebate within the 2018-19 year. Similarly, if you have customers that you issued a Solar Provider Statement to before 12 April 2019 then check to see if they have applied for eligibility.
If so, then we will have either issued them an eligibility number or we will do so once we have confirmed their eligibility. Once they have received their eligibility number they are able to proceed with installation.
We are also contacting these customers to let them know that they are still able to claim the rebate with us, so they may be expecting your call.
Once you’ve completed the installation work, please make sure they receive all the required documents so that we can quickly process their rebate application. The documents your customers need for their rebate application are:
- Certificate of Electrical Safety
- PV Small-Scale Technology Certificate (STC) Assignment Form
- Tax Invoice / Receipt including total cost of system installation, any discounts and rebates applied (e.g. STCs), and the balance paid in full by the customer. If the balance is subject to a repayment plan provided by you, please ensure this is documented in the receipt or additional documentation is provided.
Applications for solar PV rebate will open again on 1 July 2019 with an additional offering of no-interest loans to complement the rebate, as well as solar for rental properties and solar battery rebates. In the meantime, solar hot water rebates are still open.
