The Solar Homes program is a 10-year, $1.3 billion commitment to help Victorians take control of their energy costs with the installation of solar PV, solar hot water systems and solar batteries on their homes.
Solar Victoria will be working closely with industry throughout the life of the Solar Homes program and is currently seeking Expressions of Interest for membership on the Solar Victoria Industry Reference Group (IRG). The IRG will provide advice to Solar Victoria and the Victorian Government on the effective delivery of the Solar Homes Program – making sure it delivers on its goals and supports the sustainable development of the solar industry in Victoria.
The IRG will comprise: The Chairperson (the Director, Sector Development, Solar Victoria), up to six small, medium and large solar retail representatives, solar installers and relevant industry, training and union representatives. Other attendees will be invited to attend as appropriate.
Members will be selected to provide diversity from a range of small, medium and large businesses, different backgrounds and from metropolitan and regional areas. Key industry stakeholders will also be invited to attend.
To ensure the IRG is diverse and provides continuing opportunities for sector growth and development, membership will be refreshed on an annual basis.
- IRG members will meet regularly to provide advice on:
- Emerging safety and quality risks, and associated standards
- Technology requirements
- Future grid requirements
- Skills and workforce development
- Product stewardship
